Sophomore Jonathon Elsey won two doubles matches
and one in singles as Augustana split with Carthage and
North Central over the weekend.The Augustana men's tennis team is now 11-10 overall and 3-2 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin after splitting a pair of road matches over the weekend of April 18-19. The Vikings lost to Carthage on Saturday, April 18 in Kenosha, Wisconsin by a score of 8-1 but bounced back nicely on Sunday, April 19 with a 9-0 whitewash of North Central in Naperville, Illinois.
Head coach
Jon Miedema's team will play at Millikin in Decatur, Illinois on Tuesday, April 21 at 4:00 p.m. in the final CCIW match of the season. Augustana will then head up the Mississippi River the next day (Wednesday, April 22) to take on Ashford in a non-conference match at 4:00 p.m. The regular season will conclude on Sunday, April 26 with a battle against Luther at 2:00 p.m. in Decorah, Iowa.
04/19/15 – AUGUSTANA 9, NORTH CENTRAL 0 Less than 24 hours after dropping an 8-1 decision at Carthage, the Vikings bounced back nicely with an impressive 9-0 victory at North Central to move to 11-10 overall and 3-2 in CCIW play.
The doubles action went Augustana's way and provided the visitors with an early 3-0 advantage. Senior

Austin Schoeck (Alleman Catholic HS, Rock Island, Ill.) beat Connor Sass and Ryan Doeckel 8-2. The number three team of junior
Patrick Lenz (Villanova Prep, Ojai, Calif.) and sophomore
Jonathon Elsey (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) defeated Adam Winters and Kevin Davenport 8-1.
Sophomore
Nicholas Prabhakar (Rockford Lutheran HS, Belvidere, Ill.) took three sets at number six before putting away Tyler Ringle 6-4; 2-6; 10-6. Pohl also went three sets at number two before beating Sass 6-0; 6-8; 10-4.
Palmer beat Moews 6-0; 6-2 at number one and Lenz beat Vasic 6-0; 6-2 at number three. Schoeck took care of Winters 7-5; 6-1 at number four and Elsey beat Doeckel 6-1; 6-0 at number five.
04/18/15 – CARTHAGE 8, AUGUSTANA 1 The lone victory in this match came at number three doubles where Lenz and Elsey defeated Ryan Jump and Alex Ferruzzi 8-4.
Palmer and Olsson lost to Pawel Jaworski and Jordan Verbauwhede 6-8 at number one doubles and Pohl and Schoeck dropped a 5-8 decision at number two to Alex Boomgarden and Chris Conley.
Because of some injury problems Miedema was forced to juggle his singles lineup a bit for this match.
Pohl lost to Jaworski 3-6; 3-6 at number one and Lenz fell 6-7; 2-6 at number two to Boomgarden. Schoeck lost 4-6; 0-6 at number three to Jump and Olsson went three sets at number four before falling to Verbauwhede 2-6; 6-3; 2-6. Elsey lost 0-6; 1-6 at number five to Conley and Prabhakar dropped a 3-6; 0-6 decision to Ferruzzi at number six.
