Augustana head coach Kyle Hart started all 10 of his seniors on Wednesday night
against Carroll at Thorson-Lucken Field. The Vikings were awarded a 1-0 forfeit
after the game was stopped with Augustana in front 9-0 in the second period.
Carroll lost two goalkeepers due to injury and was unable to field a full team.ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana picked up a 1-0 forfeit victory over Carroll in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin men's lacrosse action on Wednesday, April 15 at Thorson-Lucken Field. The game was stopped with 9:35 left in the second period when the Pioneers were unable to field a complete team on the field. At that point in the game the Vikings were leading 9-0.
Augustana jumped out to a 6-0 lead at the end of the first period and had a 16-0 advantage in shots taken at that time. The Vikings then scored three goals in the first five minutes of the second stanza and led 9-0 when an injury to backup Pioneer goalkeeper Jeremy Kruse left Carroll without anybody to play goalie. Zach Brunette, who started in goal for the Pioneers, left the game two minutes into the second period with concussion-like symptoms.

Kevin Gleason (Loyola Academy, Chicago, Ill.) scored three goals to lead the scoring up to the point where the game was stopped. Freshman
John Danko (Lockport HS, Lockport, Ill.) had a goal and two assists.

McKay Potter (Hudson HS, Hudson, Wis.) won five of seven face-offs and had three ground balls.
The statistics for this game will not be counted, per NCAA rules that state that the contest must be completed through three periods. The Vikings are now 10-3 overall and 2-0 in the CCIW. Augustana will host Elmhurst on Saturday, April 18 at 4:00 p.m. in a "Senior Day" celebration.
