Augustana shut out at 19th-ranked North Park

Freshman Matt Hesch recorded six saves Saturday, but Augustana dropped a 3-0 decision at
19th-ranked North Park.

CHICAGO, Ill. - North Park, ranked 19th in the most recent NSCAA Coaches' Poll, rode a Pedram Tahmi-Masoleh hat trick to a 3-0 win over Augustana Saturday at the Holmgren Athletic Complex. The hosts improved to 12-3-1 overall and moved into a tie for the CCIW lead at 3-1-1. Coach Mick Regan's Vikings fell to 4-12-1 on the year and 1-4 in the league.
 
Tahmi-Masoleh's first goal, his 17th of the season, came in the ninth minute off an assist from Jason Gonzalez. He added another off a rebound just before halftime. Marcus Ollton was credited with the helper.
 
In the 75th minute, Tahmi-Masoleh beat freshman Matt Hesch (St. Edward HS, Elgin, Ill.) with a penalty kick, the third that Augustana has yielded in its last three matches.
 
North Park outshot the visitors by an 18-12 margin in the match. Junior Michael Brazinski (Plainfield East HS, Plainfield, Ill.) fired a team-high five for Regan's side, putting three on frame. Augustana had a 3-2 edge in corners.
 
Hesch made a half-dozen saves in goal, while North Park's Chris Tomuta was credited with seven.
 
On Wednesday, October 28, the Vikings will host Wheaton in a 7:30 p.m. match at Thorson-Lucken Field.
