Junior Michael Brazinski got off five shots Wednesday and put four on frame, but Augustana fell
1-0 to North Central in Naperville, Illinois.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - For the second time in four days, Augustana dropped a match on a penalty kick in the 85th minute Wednesday. North Central's Evan Landmark converted his PK attempt for the only goal of the night as the Cardinals handed the Vikings a 1-0 setback at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Coach Mick Regan's squad fell to 4-11-1 overall and 1-3 in the CCIW. North Central improved to 4-11 on the year, but 3-1 in the conference.

The contest was as evenly played as the score would indicate, with Augustana putting six of its 12 shots on goal compared to three of 11 by the hosts. The Vikings also had a 3-1 edge in corners, but it was the Cardinals' lone corner that preceded a foul and red card issued to senior Erik Gustafson (Cary-Grove HS, Cary, Ill.) in the 85th minute. That allowed Landmark to put in the game-winner, his second goal of the season.

Tough-luck loser Matt Hesch (St. Edward HS, Elgin, Ill.) recorded two saves in goal, while his counterpart for North Central, Justin De Boer, had six.

Junior Michael Brazinski (Plainfield HS, Plainfield, Ill.) led the Augustana offensive attack, putting four of his five shots on frame.

The Vikings will be back on the road on Saturday, October 24, traveling to Chicago, Illinois to face North Park in a 3:30 p.m. match.
