decision to Illinois Wesleyan in overtime Saturday.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan's John Pisani scored less than a minute into overtime Saturday to give Illinois Wesleyan a 1-0 win over Augustana at Thorson-Lucken Field. The Vikings fall to 7-4 overall this year and 0-1 in the CCIW, while the Titans go to 7-6 on the season and 1-0 in the league.

When Augustana was unable to clear an IWU throw in early in overtime, Titan Dino Karas got a head on the ball and redirected it to Pisani. The Illinois Wesleyan forward was able to beat Brett Johnson (Zion-Benton HS, Beach Park, Ill.) to the keeper's left side for the game-winner. The goal was his second of the season. Karas was credited with the assist.

The Vikings outshot IWU 12-11 in the match. Junior Patrick Nelson (Jacksonville HS, Jacksonville, Ill.) put two of his three shots on goal and had one of Augustana's best scoring opportunities when his blast from nearly straight on in the 85th minute was barely wide right. Illinois Wesleyan had a 3-1 edge in corners.

Johnson finished with four saves in the match, while his Titan counterpart, Mark Streid, recorded five.

Coach Brenton Joseph's side will try to bounce back on Tuesday, October 7. The Vikings travel to Indianola, Iowa to face Simpson at 7:00 p.m.
