Brenton Joseph's Vikings improve to 9-4-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the CCIW. The Red men are now 8-7 on the year and 2-2 in the league.
The 90 regulation minutes were evenly played, with Carthage getting off 12 shots to 11 for Augustana and each team putting three on goal. However, none of those yielded a goal and the sides went to overtime tied at 0-0.
Two minutes into the extra session, Red Man Arnoldo Reyes had his shot sail high, the only Carthage attempt in overtime.
Then in the 95th minute, from just to the left of the Red Men goal, Colucci headed a ball which found Bhatia in front. The sophomore midfielder beat Jovani Mata to the keeper's right side for the game winner. The goal was Bhatia's first of the season, while Colucci was credited with his team-leading fifth assist.
The shot totals ended up at 13 for Carthage and 12 for the Vikings. Augustana led 4-3 in shots on goal. Senior
Danny Campagna (Glenbard North HS, Carol Stream, Ill.) led the Vikings with three shot attempts, two of which were on goal. Augustana held a 6-2 advantage in corners, all in regulation.

Brett Johnson (Zion Benton HS, Beach Park, Ill.) recorded three saves in posting his sixth solo shutout of the year. Mata also had three saves for the Red Men.
Joseph's side is back in action on Wednesday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. North Central will visit Thorson-Lucken Field as part of a women's-men's double header.
