(Evangelic Gymnasium Hermannswerder, Potsdam, Germany) goal in the 42nd minute provided the margin of victory Sunday as Augustana defeated Fontbonne 2-1 at Dennis P. Long Field. With the win, the Vikings improve to 3-2-1, while the Griffins fall to 4-4-1 on the year.

(Notre Dame Prep, Scottsdale, Ariz.) throw in was deflected in front of the Fontbonne goal. The goal was Fridolin's second of the season, tying him for the team lead. A scoreless second half allowed Augustana to come away with the win.
Senior
Matt Shipon (South Elgin HS, Elgin, Ill.) started the scoring just four minutes in, taking a deflection and finding the net for the first time this season to put the Vikings up 1-0.
The Griffins leveled the score in the 17th minute. Josh Schulz scored with an assist from Austin Willenbrock. The goal was Schulz's third of the season.
Senior
Tyler Cowherd (Bettendorf HS, Bettendorf, Iowa) went the distance in goal for Augustana, making four saves to earn his first victory of the year. Both he and Fontbonne counterpart Zach Will made a pair of saves in the scoreless second half. Will replaced Mirth after halftime.
The hosts outshot the Vikings 11-8 overall, although Augustana had a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal. The Griffins held a 5-4 edge in corners.
