Borkowski joined Augustana athletics in September, 2026.
Borkowski arrives at Augustana after spending the past 19 months in Southern Illinois University’s athletic communications department. With the Salukis, Borkowski first served as a graduate assistant while earning a Master’s of Science in Sports and Recreation Administration. He acted primarily as the sports information director for SIU’s women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and swim and dive teams. Borkowski’s responsibilities included article writing, social media management, content creation, website management, stating, public address, and more. After earning his Master’s, Borkowski transitioned to a contractor position for the 2026 summer.
Prior to Southern Illinois, Borkowski attended Concordia University Chicago for 3.5 years. While in River Forest, Borkowski worked extensively in CUC’s athletic communications department, mostly as a broadcaster for Cougar athletic contests, but also contributed to article writing, coaches interviews, and social media management. Additionally, Borkowski was a member of the men’s lacrosse team, acting as the Cougars’ starting goaltender from 2022-24. During that stretch, he appeared in 38 games while compiling 645 career saves, which is second most in program history. Borkowski also tops the record book in single game saves (29) and is top three in saves-per-game (16.97), single season saves (245), and single season saves-per-game (17.75). In December 2024, Borkowski graduated from Concordia with a 4.0 GPA and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications while minoring in journalism and English.
A St. Louis native, Borkowski attended Lindbergh High School from 2017-21 where he was a two-year men’s lacrosse varsity captain and was involved in the band program.
