Eric Mumma, of Rock Island, Illinois, will begin his first year as the hitting coach for the Vikings’ softball program. Mumma played baseball Black Hawk College and Southern Illinois University before playing Professional Independent Baseball for three years. Mumma has been a private baseball and softball instructor since 1994, most recently working with the Midwest Sluggers Fastpitch softball organization. In 2013, Mumma was the batting practice pitcher for the Quad Cities River Bandits and will hold that same position this coming summer. Mumma currently works for John Deere Seeding in Moline, Illinois.
