Alex Heckroth

Alex Heckroth enters his second year on the Augustana College athletic staff in 2026–27 as a Strength and Conditioning Coach after joining the Vikings in August 2025.

In his role, Heckroth oversees the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the majority of Augustana’s varsity sports teams.

Alongside his responsibilities at Augustana, Heckroth serves as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Athlete Development Project in the Quad Cities. Prior to joining the Vikings, he served as the Strength and Conditioning Coach and long-term substitute PE teacher at Central DeWitt High School during the 2024–25 academic year.

A four-year collegiate baseball pitcher, Heckroth earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Performance and Fitness from St. Ambrose University in 2024. He holds his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential through the NSCA, is a USA Weightlifting Level 1 (USAW-L1) certified coach, and holds an Iowa Coaching Authorization.

A native of Davenport, Iowa, Heckroth currently resides in Bettendorf with his wife, Erica.
