James Raabe took the position of assistant wrestling coach at Augustana in the fall of 2020. He competed collegiately at Western Illinois University and has served as a certified IHSA official for forty years. He is a USA Wrestling nationally certified coach for the silver level. Raabe has coached at a variety of schools such as MacMurray College, Routt Catholic High School, Illinois School for the Visually Impaired, Hamilton High School, and Providence Catholic High School while accumulating over 15 state qualifiers.
Over the years, Raabe has been a member of a variety of committees including IHSA Student with Disabilities Advisory committee, ISHA Cross-Country Advisory committee, IHSA Wrestling Ad-hoc Weight Control committee, and the IHSA Wrestling Advisory Committee. He has held the president position in both the IAHPERD Western District and the North Central Association of Schools for the Blind.
Raabe has been awarded IADA Director of the Year for class 1A and 2A and has served two years as the Prarie State Games Wrestling State Chairman.
