Augustana College Athletics

Chad Thomas enters his 29th season as the pole vault coach with the Vikings track and field team in 2023. Chad has a BS from Muskingum University where he himself was a 5-time NCAA Champion and 9-time All-American in the vault. 

During his tenure at Augustana, he has mentored 1 NCAA champion, 11 All-Americans, 35 Conference Champions and over 75 All-Conference performers in the pole vault alone. 

Chad is originally from Ohio and lives with his family in the Quad Cities. Chad enjoys mentoring area coaches and hosting camps and clinics for pole vault in the Quad City area.
