Adam Myers, a 2012 graduate of Augustana, will coach for the women’s track and field team alongside head coach Fred Whiteside. Myers, an All-American as well as the school record holder in hammer, will be coaching the Viking throwers for the second season.
Myers graduated with a degree in biology and was also a Dean’s list student. He was also involved in Beta Beta Beta, a biological honor society. During both his junior and senior seasons at Augustana Myers made appearances at the NCAA Division III National Track & Field Championships. He was voted co-MVP of field events as well as Most Improved.
Myers is a native of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, but moved to Illinois and graduated from Dixon High School. At Dixon Myers competed in football, track, and scholastic bowl. He was a state qualifier his senior year in discus and came to Augustana as both a shot putter and discus thrower before narrowing his focus solely to hammer throw.
