Dwight was a diver at nearby Moline High School and became the first diving coach at United Township High School in East Moline when they opened their pool. He then went to Worsham College of Mortuary Science.
Returning to serve locally as a business owner, he also coached sports at many different levels. Then returning to coach diving at UTHS, where some divers attained school records, top tens, conference championships, and were named team Captains.
Now at Augustana College, he will share his coaching philosophy of " coaching backwards to move forwards", hopefully to future coaches.
