Eric J. Rowell is entering his second year as an assistant coach with the women's team. He is a 1993 graduate of Augustana College. He played for Augustana's men's team for four years and competed for a national championship in 1993.

Since graduation Eric has worked for various non-profit organizations including the YMCA. It is with the YMCA that he was able to go overseas and coach basketball in India.

Eric returned to Augustana in 2002 to work in the Advancement Office. At that time he began his college coaching career that would span from 2002-2008 with the men's team as an assistant coach. Afterwards, he began coaching youth programs in the Quad City community that included youth basketball, soccer, tee ball and swimming. Eric currently works in the Admissions Office of Augustana as an Assistant Director of Admissions and Diversity Outreach. He has two biological children, Anna and Jude, and is the legal guardian of two international students from India, Saurabh and Gaurav Patwal.
