ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's golf teams finished first at the Highland Championships on Sunday. The men's team finished tied for first with UW-Eau Claire, with a final score of 572 after shooting a round of 283 to finish four under par over both days. The women secured first with a round score of 313 for a total of 629.
On the men's side,
Anis Rezzoug posted a round of 68 to finish four under par on the day and eight under par over the two-day event for a total of 136. Alex Thery tied for third with a round-two score of 69 to be three under par for a total score of 141.
Patrick McGrath shot 69 on the day to finish with a 143 to place in a three-way tie for fifth.
Calvin Short secured eighth with a round score of 71 for a total of 144.
Aiden Salcedo,
Camden Flack, and Melvin Minz finished in a tie for 12th with a final score of 145. Salcedo hit 75 on the day, while Flack hit 72 and Minz hit 75.
Jacob Brokaw clinched a top-20 finish after hitting 74 on the day for a total of 146.
For the women,
Madision Barnes and
Riley Kinsella were at the top of the leaderboard after finishing with a score of 154. Barnes closed out round two with a score of 79, while Kinsella shot 76. Savanna Siegrist finished in a tie for seventh after hitting 78 on the day for a total of 161.
Lydia Hall and
Sarah Bond tied for 14th with a total of 165. Hall hit 82 on the day, while Bond secured 85 on day two.
Kami Jarvill secured a top-20 after hitting 84 on the day for a total of 166.
The men's team will be back in action for the Aurora Double Gun on Sept. 8, while the women's team will travel to Metamora for the CCIW Preview.Â
