NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team has been picked to finish second in this year's CCIW preseason poll. Augie totaled 55 points, nine behind Wheaton in first and 13 ahead of Carthage and North Park in third. 

Augustana enters the new season after finishing last year with an overall record of 9-10 and 5-3 in conference. First-year coach Mike Strydom returns all-conference athlete Maripaz Ramirez, along with eight upperclassmen. 

The Vikings open the season with a non-conference matchup against UW-Whitewater this Friday, Sept. 4, in Wisconsin.
