MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's JV golf teams wrapped up the two-day Fighting Scot Fall Invite on Sunday. The men' team took first and second with round scores of 583 and 585, while the women finished second around just one round with a score of 265.
On the men's side,
Vaughn Henagan claimed the top spot after hitting two under par after both days. In round one he shot even for a score of 71 before hitting 69 to sit two under par. Melvin Minz followed in second after shooting 143 with round scores of 72 and even par, 71.
Liam Shannon tied for third after hitting two under in the opening round before grabbing a score of 70 on day two for a total of 144.
Nathan Riha finished sixth with a score of 146 with round scores of 76 and 70.
Justin Goebel and John Montgomery tied for seventh with a total score of 147. Goebel shot 72 and 75, while Montgomery hit 73 and 74.
Jacob Brokaw clinched top ten with round scores of 75 and 76 for a total of 151.
Other finishers for the men were Alejandro Arvizu (152),
Trey Hubner (152), and
Mason Weigle (153).
For the women, Sarah Winter led the Vikings with a top-10 finish in a tie for ninth after hitting 89 and 82 for a total of 171.
Giada Pellicane followed in a three-way tie for 15th with a total score of 177.
Gustavus Adolphus Invitational
The women's team finished eighth at the Gustavus Adolphus Invitational on Sunday with a team score of 639.
Lydia Hall led the Augie in the event with a 19th place finish after hitting round scores of 80 and 75 for a total of 155.
Sarah Bond followed in a tie for 24th after shooting 79 and 78 for a total of 158, while
Lauren Reinertson was one shot behind at 158 with round scores of 82 and 76.
Other finishers for Augie were Madison Barnes (161),
Kami Jarvill (162),
Riley Kinsella (166), Savanna Siegrist (170), and
Jama Burch (172).
The men's JV team will be back in action on Sept. 21 for a dual against St. Ambrose and the women's team trables to Illinois Wesleyan on Sept. 19-20.
