Men's cross country claims third; women fourth at 64th Les Duke Invitational

GRINNELL, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's cross country team competed at the 64th Les Duke Invitational on Saturday. The men's team finished third out of eight teams, while the women claimed fourth out of seven.

On the men's side, Adam Miller led the Vikings with a 13th place individual finish with a time of 27:17.5. Isaac Schuda followed with a mark of 27:28.5 to claim 16th, while Jose Gomez clocked in 17th with a time of 27:35.8. Augie saw three consecutive finishes with Jaden Gocken leading the pack with a time of 27:55.8, with Tyson Skinner behind at 27:58.7 and Ben Gricius the rally with a time of 28:24.7. Lukas Nykaza was the final finishers for the Vikings, crossing the finish line at 28:20.2.

For the women, Ryan Jednachowski clinched a top-10 spot with a time of 24:11.8 to place 10th. Keira Nelson followed at 24:42.1 to finish 19th. Augie secured 21st-25th, starting with Norah Wright at 25:00.9, Renee Jednachowski 25:07.2, Kevine Agbade at 25:10.0, Kate Van Waning with a time of 25:14.2, and Sammy Lehr closed it out at 25:22.9.

Both teams will be back in action next Saturday for the Gil Dodds Invitational hosted by Wheaton.
