GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Charlotte Frere of the Augustana Vikings women's track and field team has been named the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America NCAA Division III Women's Track and Field Team Member of the Year, the organization announced Wednesday. 

Frere, from Preemption, Illinois, graduated from Augustana with a 3.96 GPA while majoring in Biology and Kinesiology. She is a three-time CSC Academic All-America First Team selection and was named the 2025-26 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Year earlier this month.

Frere capped off her remarkable career as a three-time NCAA Division III national champion in the discus, capturing outdoor national titles in 2024, 2025, and 2026. She became the first student-athlete in program history to win three consecutive individual NCAA track and field national championships.

Her list of honors continued to grow this summer, as she was named an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient, earned CSC Academic All-District recognition, was selected as the USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor National Field Athlete of the Year, and was named the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Field Athlete of the Year.

This honor marks Frere's third CSC Academic All-America First Team selection, making her Augustana's 191st all-time Academic All-American. She also becomes the first women's track and field student-athlete in program history to earn Academic All-America recognition in three consecutive years.
