ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana men's golf team put together a strong and steady 2025-26 season, earning multiple tournament victories en route to a runner-up finish at the CCIW Championships, the program's best conference result since the 2003-04 season.
The Vikings opened the year with immediate momentum, placing third at the Highland Championship before finishing runner-up at the Monmouth Invitational. Augustana followed with a win over St. Ambrose and a fourth-place finish at the Central Fall Classic, while also placing 12th in a 45-team field at the Midwest Region Classic. The fall portion of the schedule was defined by depth across the lineup, including multiple low rounds that would later factor into the program record book.
Augustana carried that consistency into the spring season, finishing second at the Music City Shootout and fifth at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate. The Vikings captured the Monmouth Spring Invite title and followed with another team victory at the Fighting Scot Spring Invite, where Calvin Short led the way with a one-under-par 149..
The late-season run continued with the Viking Invitational, where Augustana won the team title with a score of 589. Jakob Stefanowicz earned individual medalist honors after posting a two-round total of 143, while Short finished fourth and Anis Rezzoug and Noah Ehlenbach both placed inside the top five. The Vikings closed the regular season with another strong showing at the IWU Spring Invite, finishing 17th in a large national field.
At the conference level, Augustana continued to climb. After placing third in the CCIW Preview, the Vikings improved to finish second at the CCIW Championships. Augustana posted a final-round 299 to move up two spots on the leaderboard and finish with a 909 total. Liam Shannon led the Vikings with a fifth-place finish, shooting a final-round 70, while Short tied for ninth and Rezzoug placed 14th to give Augustana three top-15 finishers. Patrick McGrath and Jacob Brokaw completed the scoring lineup.
The runner-up finish was supported by one of the program's more consistent statistical seasons in recent memory. Augustana produced multiple entries in the program record book, including a 36-hole team score of 578 at Highland Springs, the lowest two-round total in program history, posting rounds of 287 and 291. Individually, Stefanowicz's 143 at the Viking Invitational tied for the third-lowest two-round score in program history, while Short matched that mark at the Music City Shootout. The Vikings also saw multiple players land in the all-time three-round scoring lists, including Liam Shannon (222), Calvin Short (224), and Anis Rezzoug (228).
The season also saw individual recognition. Shannon and Short both earned First Team All-CCIW honors after finishing fifth and ninth, respectively, at the conference championship. Short also earned CCIW Golfer of the Week recognition during the season, alongside Stefanowicz.
