BEDFORD PARK, Ill. -- The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association hosted its annual Hall of Fame induction on Saturday, May 2, at Illinois State. Augustana was well represented at the event, with five inductees in this year's class. Katy (Hulin) Hasson, David & Nancy Moe, Chrishawn Orange, Pierson Wofford, and Ben Ryan were among those recognized.
Katy Hasson, a native of Cambridge, Illinois, competed for the women's basketball team from 1988-91. During her time at Augustana, she earned six individual honors, including All-American recognition (1990–91), CCIW Most Outstanding Player (1990–91), and four All-Conference selections. She ranks second all-time in scoring with 1,662 career points, averaging 16.1 per game. Hasson also finished her career with 717 field goals made (No. 2), a 53.3% field goal percentage (No. 5), and 214 free throws made (No. 10). She remains Augustana's all-time leader in rebounds with 927, averaging 9.0 per game, and recorded 92 blocks (No. 3) and 158 steals (No. 8). In the 1988–89 season, Hasson totaled 506 points (No. 2) and set a program record with 216 field goals made, while adding 292 rebounds (No. 3).
David Moe was a standout golfer for the Vikings, earning two-time All-CCIW honors and capturing the 1969 CCIW individual championship while leading Augustana to a team title. Beyond his time as a student-athlete, Moe has remained deeply connected to the college, using his skills, resources, and relationships to support Augie athletics and its student-athletes. Nancy Moe has also devoted her life to meaningful service and connection within the Augustana community. A 40-year career speech-language pathologist, she has served as a class representative, reunion chairperson, and mentor for communication sciences and disorders students. Through her generosity and leadership, she has strengthened the bonds of the Augustana family and ensured future generations benefit from the same transformative experiences.
Chrishawn Orange is from Algonquin, Illinois, and was a member of the men's basketball team from 2016-19. He ranks sixth all-time in Augustana history with 1,466 career points and is also sixth in free throws made with 336. During the 2016–17 season, Orange earned D3hoops.com All-American honors and was named Third Team All-Region. He went on to earn All-Region recognition in each of the following two seasons and was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection. Over his career, Orange totaled 105 steals, 14 blocks, 257 assists, and 437 rebounds while logging 3,445 minutes.
Pierson Wofford, a native of Springfield, Illinois, began his career in 2016 and came back in 2019-20. Over his three seasons, he scored 1,166 career points to rank 19th all-time and earned First Team All-Conference honors twice. During the 2019–20 season, Wofford totaled 445 points, along with 19 steals, 10 blocks, 47 assists, and 181 rebounds in 733 minutes. He recorded season highs of 27 points, 36 minutes, 15 free throws made, and 11 rebounds in a game at the Carver Center against Wheaton.
Ben Ryan is from Washington, Illinois, and was a member of the men's basketball team from 2013-16. He is the ninth-ranked scorer at Augustana with 1371 points in his three years, along with fifth in field goals made with 569Â and rebounds with 793. In his final season, Ryan totaled 433 points, with 18 rebounds, 45 assists, and 220 rebounds in his 848 minutes of action. He recorded a season high of 23 points and 16 rebounds at Carthage on Jan. 16, 2016.
