BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's tennis team fell to the Carthage Firebirds in the semifinal matchup on Friday by a score of 4-1.
The Firebirds gained an early advantage by sweeping all the doubles matches. In singles play, Carthage secured a win at No. 2 before
Jorge Marcelo followed with a 7–6 (7–4), 6–4 victory at No. 3. The Firebirds then captured the final three matches to seal a 4–1 win, with the No. 1 and No. 5 matches left unfinished after being pushed to extra sets.
With the loss, Augie concludes the season with an 11-11 overall record and 6-3 in conference play.Â
