BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's tennis team defeated the Carroll Pioneers on Thursday in the quarterfinal matchup by a score of 4-1. 

The Pioneers took an early 1–0 lead by winning two of the three doubles matches. Santiago Diaz and Saman Rezaeyan secured a 6–1 victory at No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, Augie won all four matchups to take control and seal the victory. At No. 3, Jorge Marcelo earned a 6–1, 6–3 win, while Santiago Lazo picked up a pair of 6–2 set victories. Facundo Feldman saw three sets but prevailed 6–2, 2–6, 6–1. Aingeru Garcia closed out the quarterfinals with a 6–2, 6–3 win

With the win, the Vikings improve to 11-10 on the season and advance to the semifinal round against the Carthage Firebirds.
