ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's golf team finished the Viking Invitational with the C team taking the title with a team score of 589. The A team followed in second with a score of 595, while the B team hit 607 for fourth and the D squad shot 616 to finish fifth.
Jakob Stefanowicz was the individual champion of the event with a final score of 143, with round scores of 72 and 71. The senior shot even in the opening round before sitting at five under after the first nine holes of round two, and wrapped up the competition one under par.
Calvin Short finished in fourth after shooting 74 in round one, improving by three spots with a round two score of 72 for a total of 146.
Anis Rezzoug followed in fifth with a score of 147 after hitting 77 and 70.
Noah Ehlenbach moved up 23 places after his score of 80 in round one and followed with a 69 on day two to be three under par on the day for a total of 149, tying with
Nathan Riha, who hit round scores of 73-76.
Rodrigo Sanchez-Serrano,
Liam Shannon, and
Justin Goebel clinched top-10 spots in a three-way tie for eighth after hitting 150. Sanchez-Serrano collected a round score of 75 on both days, while Shannon hit 76 and 74, and Goebel shot 78 and 72.
