BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team defeated the Carroll Pioneers 4-0 on Thursday in the quarterfinal matchup of the CCIW Championships. 

In the doubles competition, the Vikings secured the first two spots to take the early 1-0 lead. Hannah Colbert and Anna-Maria Huebel earned a 7-6 victory, while Colleen Larry and Maripaz Ramirez sealed a 6-3 win.

In singles, Augie found success in the No. 4-6 positions to clinch the match early and advance to the semifinals. Larry continued her success in the No. 4 spot, winning 6-2, 6-3. Maddy Harned followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win, and Kassidy Anderson rallied for three sets with scores of 1-6, 6-1, and 6-4.

With the win, Augie improves to 9-9 on the season and will be back in action to battle North Central in the semifinals.
