STERLING, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's tennis team defeated the Millikin Big Blue on Wednesday by a score of 6-1.

The Vikings jumped out to an early lead by taking the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches. Aingeru Garcia and Jorge Marcelo secured a 6–4 win at the top spot, while Grant Meyers and Santiago Lazo matched that score with a 6–4 victory at No. 3.

In singles play, Santiago Diaz claimed the No. 1 match with set scores of 6–4, 6³-7⁷. The Big Blue picked up a win at No. 2, but Augie responded by winning the remaining matches. Marcelo earned a 6–4, 6–3 victory, and Lazo followed with a 6–1, 6–4 win at No. 4. Facundo Feldman battled through a three-set match, falling 4–6 before rebounding 6–0 and finishing with a 1¹⁰-0⁷ tiebreak win. Garcia then closed out the event with a 6–3, 6–3 victory.

With the win, Augie improves to 7-9 on the season and will be back in action tomorrow to host Illinois Wesleyan.
