MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team defeated the Monmouth Scots on Monday by a score of 6-1.
The Vikings took the early 1-0 lead after securing all three doubles matchups.
Hannah Colbert and
Anna-Maria Huebel grabbed the top spot with a score of 6-4. In the No. 2 spot,
Maripaz Ramirez and
Colleen Larry secured a 6-0 victory, and
Sofia Carr and
Natasha Gauerke collected the No. 3 matchup 6-1.
In singles play, Colbert earned her 100th career win at No. 1 with set scores of 6-2 and 6-4. Ramriez followed with scores of 6-2 and 6-0, while Huebel secured the No. 3 matchup in straight sets. Larry and
Leah Kitterman closed out the battle with wins at No. 4 and No. 6 with scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
With the win, Augie improves to 7-8 on the season and will be back in action on April 18 at Luther.Â
