NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's tennis team came up short against the North Central Cardinals on Sunday by a score of 4-3.

Aingeru Garcia and Jorge Marcelo took the top spot in the doubles matchups with a score of 7⁹-6⁷, but the Cardinals secured the other two sets to take the 1-0 lead. 

In singles format, Santiago Diaz took the No. 1 match in extra sets with scores of 6-2, 5-7, and 1-0 to even the score at 1-1. North Central took the No. 2-4 spot before Feldman Facundo in three sets with scores of 4-6, 6-3, and 1¹⁰--0⁸. Garcia Acebo closed the meet with a 6-2 and 6-1 victory at No. 6, but the Cardinals held the one-point advantage at 4-3.

With the loss, Augie moves to 6-9 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. The Vikings will be back in action on April 15 to host Millikin.
