CORALVILLE, Iowa -- Aine Moffit and
Maryam Ndiaye competed at the first NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships on Friday, with Moffit becoming the first All-American in program history.
In the 138 weight class, Moffit earned two victories in the first session with pins in both rounds, highlighted by a win over the No. 8-seeded opponent from Presbyterian. In the second session of the day, the senior lost a tough battle to move to the consolation bracket. Moffit concluded the day with a 7-7 decision victory over East Stroudsburg due to earning the final points of the matchup.Â
Ndiaye wrapped up her season with tough competitions against Adrian and Emmanuel.Â
Moffit will continue action tomorrow with two guaranteed matches, with the highest placement being third and the lowest eighth.Â
