HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team fell to the DePauw Tigers on Tuesday by a score of 5-2.
The Vikings started strong in doubles action, collecting wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots to gain the early lead.
Hannah Colbert and
Anna-Maria Huebel secured a 6-3 win in the top spot, while
Colleen Larry and
Maripaz Ramirez secured a 7
7-6
5 victory.
Augie had a 1-0 lead, and Colbert kept her momentum going, claiming a two-set win with a score of 6-3 and 6-1 at No. 1. The Tigers overtook the advantage after coming out on top in the remainder of the singles matchups to prevail 5-2.
With the loss, Augie moves to 5-6 on the year and will be back in action tomorrow to face Oberlin.
