IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory of the Central Dutch on Saturday.

The Vikings took the early 1-0 lead after conquering all of the doubles matchups. At the No. 1 spot, Aingeru Garcia and Jorge Marcelo picked up a 7⁷-6⁵ win before Santiago Diaz and Saman Rezaeyan collected a 6-3 score at No. 2. In the final battle, Facundo Feldman and Arturo Asensio Moreno closed out doubles action with a score of 6-2. 

In singles action, Augie kept the momentum going with victories in all matches other than one. Diaz pushed three sets after dropping the first one and coming back with scores of 1-6, 6-1, and 1¹⁰-0¹. Rezaeyan followed with set scores of 6-3 and 6-1 at No. 2 before Marcelo and Garcia finished 6-2 and 6-0 at the No. 3 and 4 spots. The Dutch conquered the No. 5 slot, but Feldman closed out action with two 6-0 set scores to seal the 6-1 team victory. 

Elsewhere, Pedro Nunes and Tomas Jimenez earned a 6-1 win in doubles, and Asensio Moreno claimed an 8-2 score.

With the win, Augie improves to 3-3 on the season and will be back in action on March 23-25 in South Carolina for spring break.
