Box Score WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Augustana Vikings women's basketball team battled nationally ranked Carroll on Saturday afternoon, falling 75–55. With the setback, the Vikings move to 10–11 overall and 5–7 in CCIW play.

The Vikings kept things tight early, capitalizing on opportunities at the free-throw line as Cali Papez and Paige Melton combined to go 4-for-4 in the opening minutes. Giulia Milazzo added an early layup to keep Augustana within striking distance at 9–6 before Carroll rattled off eight straight points to create separation. Ciara Hull and Milazzo answered with back-to-back baskets in the final 90 seconds of the quarter, but the Vikings trailed 20–10 after one.

Tia Lewis and Jazmeriah Jones opened the scoring in the second quarter to spark the Augustana offense, but Carroll responded with a 10–2 run to extend the margin to 16. Papez slowed the momentum with a floating layup on a feed from Carly Stone, and Lewis closed the half with a jumper in the final 30 seconds as the Vikings went into the break down 41–23.

Augustana came out of the locker room with a hot hand, turning in their best quarter of the day in the third by outscoring the hosts 16–13. The Vikings connected on four early shots from the floor, with Kadence Tatum leading the charge by scoring two of the baskets. Defensive pressure helped disrupt Carroll's rhythm, allowing Augustana to chip into the deficit before the Pioneers regrouped late in the period to hold a 54–39 lead heading into the fourth.

The Vikings continued to battle in the final frame, attacking the paint and competing on the glass. Lexi Hayes and Milazzo added key buckets, while Augustana closed the game with points from the perimeter and the free-throw line. A late three-pointer from Milazzo and a final triple from Sophia Klacik rounded out the scoring.

Milazzo led Augustana with 13 points, while Lewis and Papez each finished with 10. Paige Melton paced the Vikings on the boards with nine rebounds. Augustana recorded 30 points in the paint, shot over 80 percent from the free-throw line, and received 21 points from its bench.

The Vikings remain on the road for a CCIW matchup at Wheaton on Wednesday, February 11, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
