DEKALB, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's bowling team finished second out of three in the Quad Challenge against the MSOE Raiders and Carroll Pioneers this past weekend. The team finished with a 4-1 record, with its only loss coming against Carroll in the Baker format in the final round.
In game one, the Vikings defeated MSOE with a total score of 901.
Laurin Jacobs led the team with a score of 207, and
Anna Ricci followed with 188.
Cassie Kontos rolled a game of 180, and
Samantha Olson knocked down 176 pins in the win. Augie picked up another victory in game two with a team score of 803. Ricci led with a score of 167, while Sarai Roberston followed by one pin with a score of 166. In the final traditional game, the Vikings grabbed the win over Carroll with a total score of 914. Olson led the game with 221 pins, with Kontos bowling her third straight game with a score of 189, and Ricci with a total pinfall of 196.
In Baker format, Augie conquered MSOE in the semifinals with a score of 842.
Molly Singleton bowled second and earned a game high of 204, and
Kathryn Edwards went first and knocked down 189 pins. In the final round, the Vikings fell to Carroll 898-878 to finish second. Olson led with 242 in the fourth game of the Baker format.
The team will be back in action on Feb. 28- March 1 for the second round of the CCIW Tournament in Aurora, Ill.
