ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's swimming & diving team sealed the victory over the Monmouth Scots and Coe Kohawks on Saturday. The Vikings defeated Monmouth 221-14 and Coe 207-64.
For the men,
Cesar Castillo,
Mark Addison,
Jake McCormack, and
Oskar Bannister won the 200-yard medley with a time of 1:36.34. Leslie, Rettig,
Bjorn Sievert, and Bannister closed out the meet with a win in the 400-yard free relay with a time of 3:16.50.
In individual events,
Matteo Graham was victorious in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:45.88. In the 200-yard freestyle,
Matthew Meyer finished first with a time of 1:47.88, and Castillo followed at 1:51.75.
Tyler Leslie clocked in first at 52.13 in the 100-yard back, while
Michael Garland clocked in at 1:00.13 in the 100-yard breast. In the 200-yard fly,
Carter Lavold sealed a time of 1:58.34 to finish first. Addison clocked in a time of 21.72 in the 50-yard freestyle, and Luke Rettig followed with a time of 21.77. Castillo won the 100-yard freestyle at 49.15, while McCormack finished first in the 200-yard back with a time of 2:08.50.
Ethan Herstedt finished first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:01.88, while Leslie earned a time of 50.89 in the 100-yard fly. Addison sealed the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:56.52.Â
With the wins, Augie improves to 4-3 on the season and will be back on Jan. 16-17 for the Grinnell Invitational.Â
