ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team competed at the ITA Regionals on Friday, with each participant recording a win.
In doubles,
Hannah Colbert and
Colleen Larry notched a bye in the first round because they were seeded, before defeating Ohio Northern by a score of 8-5 in the second round. The pair faced No. 2 seeded Kenyon and fell by a score of 8-6.
Colbert, Larry, and
Maripaz Ramirez recorded a win in singles play, but fell in each of their second matches to seeded opponents to end their tournament runs. Colbert won over Westminster with scores of 6-1 and 6-0, while Larry was victorious over Greenville in three sets with scores of 6-1, 1-6, and 10-7. Ramirez was successful over Earlham after a three-set thriller with scores of 6-3, 3-6, and 10-6.
The Vikings will be back in action on Oct. 4 to battle Wheaton.
