Women's Golf Highland Championship

Women's golf claims first; men's team finishes third

ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana men's and women's golf teams completed the Highland Championship on Monday. The women secured the victory over 13 teams for the sixth consecutive year, while the men's B team clinched third out of 21 teams.

For the women, Sarah Bond was the top individual placer for the Vikings with a second-place finish after both days with a score of 152 and round scores of 75 and 77. Madison Barnes and Riley Kinsella followed in a tie for fifth after shooting 155 through both days. Barnes hit round scores of 75 and 80, while Kinsella collected 78 and 77 on both days. Georgia Holt sat one shot behind in seventh after hitting 78 both days. Lauren Reinertson shot 88 on day one and 69 on day two; her round two score was good for the second-best women's round score in school history. 

Other finishers for Augie were Emma VanderWall (159), Abby Buechele (160), Alexus Morrow (160), Jama Burch (168), Kami Jarvill (169), Lydia Hall (170), Allison Garofalo (173), Kristin Rundle (175), and Giada Pellicane (177).

On the men's side, Aiden Salcedo was the top finisher for Augie with a final score of 139 and round scores of 69 and 70. Salcedo's two-day total is good for a second all-time best at Augustana. Liam Shannon followed in a tie for ninth with round scores of 70 and 72 for a total of 142. Calvin Short, Drake Stoudt, and Luke Petersen clinched a top-15 spot with a score of 144 after both days. Short collected round scores of 76 and 68, while Stoudt and Petersen shot 72 on both days.
