ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team secured a 4-3 win over the Illinois Wesleyan Titans on Saturday. 

The Vikings won two of the three matches in the doubles round to collect the 1-0 lead entering singles action. Anna-Maria Huebel and Maripaz Ramirez won the No. 2 spot with a score of 6-3. Natasha Gauerke and Maitreyi Shrikhande were victorious at No. 3 with a 6-4 score.

Hannah Colbert found success with a straight-set win at No.1 by a score of 6-3 and 6-3. Ramirez clinched the No. 2 spot victory with set scores of 6-0 and 6-3, while Huebel secured a three-set win in the No. 3 spot with scores of 2-6, 6-1, and 5-0.
 
With the win, Augie begins the season with a 1-0 record. The team will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 16, to host Millikin.
