LAKE BLUFF, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team was defeated in its final road match of the season on Sunday, falling to the Lake Forest Foresters by a score of 7-0.
The home team took the early advantage in the contest following wins in all three doubles matches. Leading 1-0, Lake Forest claimed victories at No. 3, 4, and 1 singles to clinch the overall match victory. Augie forced a third set at both the No. 5 and 6 positions, with
Maitreyi Shrikhande winning her first set 6-4 and
Maddy Harned bouncing back from a first-set loss with a 7-5 decision in the second. Both fell in the tiebreaker to complete the 7-0 final score.
Augustana will be back in action next Sunday vs. Coe.
