Woodrey, Macias conclude stay at NCAA Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Michael Macias and Josh Woodrey finished their season at the NCAA Championships on Friday. 

Macias fell in his first matchup in the 157 weight class to the No. 6 regionally ranked wrestler from Ozarks in a sudden victory. The sophomore received a bye in the first round of the consolation bracket before dropping to the No. 3 regionally ranked opponent from the Coast Guard. 

Woodrey received a bye in the first round of the 285 division and moved to the consolation bracket after falling to the No. 2 regionally ranked and No. 11 nationally ranked individual from Coast Guard. In round two of the consolation bracket, the senior secured an 8-2 decision over the No. 7 regionally ranked wrestler from Wabash. In his final round, Woodrey lost to the No. 1 nationally ranked opponent from UW-La Crosse.

This concludes the 2024-25 season for the Augustana Vikings men's wrestling team.
