LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's tennis team will be back in action this weekend to take on the Lake Forest Foresters and Kalamazoo Hornets on the road.

Augie enters with a 4-1 overall record, recently going 3-0 win Wisconsin two weeks ago with victories over Hamline, UW-Superior, and St. Norbert. In the most recent match against St. Norbert, Augustana claimed two of three doubles matches to begin the contest, winning at the No. 2 and 3 spots to bring a 1-0 lead into singles play. Santiago Diaz and Aingeru Garcia picked up a 6-1 victory at No. 2, while Henry Galloway and Grant Meyers secured a 6-3 decision at No. 3 for the Vikings.

All six singles matchups went in favor of Augustana, with Nicolas Navarro leading the charge at the top spot with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph. Timothee Philip collected a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 2, while Diaz made quick work of his opponent at No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-0 score. Kay Woldringh Castillo won at No. 4 with a final of 6-4, 6-1 and Garcia was victorious at No. 6 by a score of 6-2, 6-4 to complete the two-set wins. Meyers won the lone third-set contest, coming back from a 6-0 defeat in set one with a 6-2 win in the second. Meyers out-scored his counterpart in the tiebreaker, 10-5.

Lake Forest currently sits with a 1-4 record and has lost four in a row since beginning the season with win. The Foresters recently dropped a pair of contests to Greenville and Coe last weekend, falling to the Panters 4-3 and the Kohawks 5-2. This Saturday will be the first home match of the season for Lake Forest and the 11th all-time meeting between the Vikings and Foresters. The two teams last met in 2017, a 5-4 win for Lake Forest in Indiana.

On Sunday, the Vikings will visit the Hornets of Kalamazoo, who sit with a 2-2 overall record. The Hornets are back in action after splitting two contests last weekend in Ohio, defeating Ohio Northern 7-0 before falling to No. 20 ranked Kenyon by the same score. Kalamazoo has played one home match this season, a loss to North Central by a final of 5-2. Sunday will be the fifth all-time meeting between the Vikings and Hornets, with Kalamazoo winning all but one of the previous battles. Augie earned its first-ever victory over Kalamazoo last season in an 8-1 road win.

Start time on Saturday is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., with Sunday's match set for 10 a.m. CT.
