WHEATON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed in their final meet of the regular season on Saturday. The men fell to Wheaton by a score of 162-119, while the women were defeated 152.5-120.5.

"This was a great meet today in preparing the body to race in less than a 24 hour turnaround," said head coach Dan Lloyd. "Again, without our full team and swimming several off events we did extremely well and put up some extremely fast swims, which based on how tired we are from our J-Term break double workouts bodes well for us once we taper for conference championships."

In the men's 200 freestyle relay, the team of Tommy Anderson, Oskar Bannister, Bjorn Sievert, and Lucas Rettig claimed first with a time of 1:26.19.

In individual events, Mark Addison and Michael Garland went No. 1 and 2 in the 200 IM, with Addison posting a time of 1:55.48 to finish first and rank No. 4 in the CCIW to date. In the 200 breaststroke, Tyler Leslie won the event with a time of 2:08.58 to place him with the fifth-fastest time in the CCIW currently. Garland also placed second in the race as well. Four of the top five finishers in the 50 free belonged to the Vikings, with Rettig leading the way with a time of 21.90 in first. Sievert came in second, followed by Anderson in fourth and Cesar Castillo in fifth. Addison, Rettig, and Castillo all finished in the top five of the 100-yard freestyle as well. Dante Rinaldi snagged second place in the 100 back for the Vikings and Kulisek and Matthew Meyer secured top-five swims in the 200 freestyle.
