ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's wrestling team defeated the Illinois Wesleyan Titans on Tuesday by a score of 40-5.

Mia Vazquez kicked off the event with a pin in the 103 weight class to take a 5-0 lead. Jo Orozco and Gwen Burbridge received forfeits in their respective weight division to tally 10 more team points for the Vikings. Hannah Suboni-Kaufman and Kyna Moffit pinned their opponents in the 124 and 131 categories before Illinois Wesleyan found its first win at 138. Aine Moffit and Maryam Ndiaye added five points apiece for Augustana with forfeits in their weight classes, and both teams forfeited the 180 division. Aislan Leetch closed the event with a fall at 207 to seal the 40-5 victory. 

Also on the night, the Vikings wrestled extra matches against the MSOE Raiders. Suboni-Kaufman, Bri Bynum, and A. Moffit defeated their opponents in the extra duals by falls. 

With the win over Illinois Wesleyan, Auige improves to 2-1 on the season and will be back in action on Friday, Dec. 5, for a dual against Wartburg.
