ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's basketball team will face the No. 13 Illinois Wesleyan Titans on Wednesday for their CCIW opener.

The Vikings enter the midweek contest with a 3-1 overall record and return to action after a big 77-28 victory over Webster this past weekend. The teams rallied in the opening quarter with the score drawing even twice before shots by Carly Stone and Audrey Erickson claimed the 15-11 upper hand. The Vikings cruised past Webster in the second, outshooting the home team 21-6, and again in the third period with a 24-7 margin. Augie led 60-24 entering the final 10 minutes of play, and with 5:24 remaining, Lexie Hayes shot a three-pointer to create the largest gap of 28, and the team sealed the victory.

Four different Vikings scored double-digits in the win, with Cali Papez leading with 15 points, five rebounds, and two assists. Paige Melton followed with 13 points, while Jazmeriah Jones had 12. Melton and Jones both notched six shots off the glass and had three assists, respectively.

Illinois Wesleyan sits at No. 17 in the D3hoops.com poll and 25th in the new Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll. The Titans boast a 4-2 overall record and sit on a two-game winning streak after defeating No. 16 UW-La Crosse and No. 15 WashU at the Midwest Challenge this past weekend. In their most recent matchup against WashU, the team battled in the first three quarters before outscoring their opponents 20-12 in the fourth frame. Sawyer White finished with a season-high of 22 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and two assists. Sara Balli collected a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Ava Bardic added 10 points. Illinois Wesleyan is coming off a 28-2 overall record and a 15-1 conference record a season ago, highlighted by a conference title and a trip to the NCAA Division III Championships, which culminated in a Sweet Sixteen appearance.

The Titans hold a 56-25 all-time series record over Augie, with Illinois Wesleyan claiming a 65-54 victory in the Carver Center back in Feb. Erickson finished the game with nine points and three steals, while Kadence Tatum collected seven points and five assists.

Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
