ROCK ISLAND -- The Augsutana Vikings men's and women's swimming battled against the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees on Saturday. The women secured a 160.5-125.5 victory, while the men fell 170-118.
On the women's side,
Natalie Salazar,
Caitlin Stoddard,
Charlotte Vogen, and
Kendle Mihm kicked off the meet with a victory in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:10.69. To close the meet out, Mihm, Vogen,
Sophia Warren, and
Mya Pheneger secured the 200-yard free relay with a time of 1:41.92.
In individual races,
Savannah Shapley conquered the 200-yard fly with a time of 2:21.82. Mihm claimed the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.64 before finishing first in the 100-yard freestyle at a time of 54.83.
Giselle Koonce touched first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:31.50, while Vogen claimed the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:01.29. In the 400-yard individual medley, Shapley finished first with a time of 4:54.59.
For the men,
Cesar Castillo finished with a time of 54.03 in the 100-yard back, while
Lucas Rettig conquered the 100-yard fly with a time of 52.32.
Carter Lavold touched first in the 200-yard fly with a time of 2:00.42 before finishing first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:59.36.Â
With the win, the women move to 3-2, while the men sit at 2-3 on the season. The Vikings will be back in action on Nov. 21-22 for the Luther Invitational.Â
