WASKESHA, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings bowling team placed third out of seven teams at the first CCIW tournament of the season on Sunday. The Vikings posted a total Baker score of 5,725 and 3,296 in traditional play for a total of 8,021 pins.
In traditional action,
Anna Ricci led the team with a total of 707 pin falls in four games with individual round scores of 184,178, 172, and 173.
Samantha Olson followed with 701 total pins with game scores of 168, 145, 217, and 165. In four games,
Cassie Kontos knocked down 674 pins with scores of 190, 179, 163, and 142, while
Molly Singleton tallied 670 with game scores of 168, 154, 168, and 174.
In Baker format, Augie defeated Elmhurst by a score of 777-768. Ricci led with 171, while Singleton knocked down 180 pins and Anan Zeglis added 123. In game four, Kontos rolled 156 and Olson collected 157 in the final game. Against Carthage, Singleton kicked the battle off with a 172, while Ricci hit 127 pins and
Kathryn Edwards added 174 to the scoresheet. Kontos followed with a high of 204, and Olson closed the matchup with 172 total pin falls.
The Vikings will be back in action on Jan. 18 to host Edgewood in a dual at Highland Park Bowl.
