EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's wrestling programs finished the 8-Man/Woman battles on Saturday.
For the women,
Moni Griffin was voted as Most Outstanding Women's Wrestler at the event after claiming first place in the 131 weight division. The junior started the day with a 10-0 technical fall and pinned her next four opponents to secure the victory.
Mia Vazquez also finished first in the 103 category after back-to-back technical falls with scores of 10-0 and 12-1. The freshman followed with pins in her final three rounds to come out on top.
Aine Moffit clinched third in the 145 weight class with a 10-0 technical fall in her first round. The senior dropped her second matchup and followed with another 10-0 technical fall. Moffit defeated Illinois Wesleyan by a 6-0 decision and pinned her opponent in the third-place match.
Jo Orozco collected third place in the 110 weight division with a 4-2 decision.
On the men's side,
Matt Lucansky finished second in the 141 weight division after winning his opening round with a fall. The freshman advanced to the championship round on a medical forfeit and fell to his opponent by a 6-3 sudden victory decision. In the 174 weight category,
Jack Miller clinched third after a 20-4 technical fall in his first round and followed with two pins.
