ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team dominated the Elmhurst Bluejays on Wednesday after winning every matchup.
In doubles action,
Hannah Colbert and
Colleen Larry claimed the No. 1 spot after winning the set 6-1. In the No.2 match,
Anna-Maria Huebel and Maripaz Ramriez secured a straight-set victory.
Maddy Harned and
Maitreyi Shrikhande helped Augie with a walkover at No. 3 to allow the Vikings to lead 1-0 entering singles play.
In the singles matchup, Colbert picked up a 6-2 and 6-3 win in the No. 1 spot, and Ramriez followed with a win at No. 2 with scores of 6-0 and 6-1. Huebel and Larry conquered the No. 3 and No. 4 spots in straight sets with scores of 6-0. Harned closed out the match with a victory at No. 5 with a final score of 6-0 and 6-3, while Shrikhande earned a walkover at No. 6.
Win the win, Augie moves to 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in conference action. The Vikings will be back in action on Oct. 11 to face off against Carthage.
