GALESBURG, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's golf team finished the Knox Invitational on Sunday with a team score of 616 to place third out of nine teams.
On the first day,
Patrick McGrath paced the team with a round of 74 to sit third overall, followed by
Liam Shannon and
Nathan Riha, who each carded 76 to share sixth place.
Calvin Short posted a steady 77 to tie for 12th, while
Drake Stoudt added a 78 to round out the scoring group in 16th.
Competing as individuals,
Justin Goebel turned in one of the top performances of the day with a 73 (+1), placing second overall among 53 golfers. Augustana's B team matched Lyon for third at +26, while the C squad sits seventh heading into Saturday's final round.
On Sunday,
Anis Rezzoug led the Vikings with a third-place finish with a final score of 149, with a round score of 73 on day two. McGrath finished fourth with a final score of 153 and a round score of 75. Shannon followed in a tie for fifth after hitting 76 on the day for a final score of 152, while Short shot a total of 154 with a final round score of 77.
