Vikings conclude home Augustana Interregional Invitational

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Augustana Vikings hosted the Fifth Annual Augustana Interregional Invitational on Saturday. The Vikings men's cross-country team placed 17th in the 8,000-meter Blue Race, registering a team score of 499.

In the Men's 8,000-meter Blue Race, Daniel Prochaska paced the Vikings, crossing the finish line in 27:03.0 to place 54th overall. Emiliano Almendariz followed closely at 28:03.2 (148th), while Adam Miller clocked 28:11.1 (163rd). Christian Haywood posted a 28:13.8 time, placing 167th, and Ben Gricius rounded out the scoring five with a 28:30.2 finish in 193rd.

Other finishers for the Vikings included Ethan Storie (29:25.8), Liam Storie (29:26.0), Ben Milner (29:53.3), Mitch Dolynchuk (29:58.1), August Haak (30:12.9), Jaden Gocken (30:29.2), Jose Gomez (31:11.2), Tyler Weber (31:23.0), Gage Gaulrapp (31:35.8), Chase Palm (31:42.0), and Lukas Nykaza (32:10.9).

In the Women's 6,000-meter Gold Race, Ryan Jednachowski clocked a 24:10.3 to pace the Vikings. Sammy Lehr followed at 24:56.4, while Norah Wright notched a personal best of 25:11.3 to finish as the team's No. 3 runner. Keira Nelson crossed in 25:24.1, and Mackenzie Meirhaeghe added a 25:48.1 to round out Augustana's top five.

Other finishers for the Vikings included Renee Jednachowski (25:54.2), Rylee Noack (26:01.6), Frida Martinez (26:02.5), Marie Weber (26:48.2), and Allison Price (30:00.4).

In the women's 6,000-meter Blue Race, three Viking freshmen earned personal bests to lead Augustana's efforts. Rosa de Lima Arroyo paced the group with a time of 29:09.4, followed by Nicole Hoffman at 30:48.2 and Kylee Larson at 33:10.4. The trio's performances marked continued progress for the young runners in their debut collegiate season.

The Vikings will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they host the CCIW Championships at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, with the meet set to begin at 12 p.m.
